What an AWESOME TRIP!!!

29 09 2008

Hey guys. So things changed a little bit Friday afternoon – but in retrospect I think it was for the better. Instead of Zion, we camped at Navajo Lake (Utah). Zion was full so we returned to our first choice. We spent Saturday in Bryce Canyon and Sunday near Navajo Lake, Duck Creek Village, and Zion :) It was probably (for me anyway) one of the funnest Geo Club trips I have ever been on!

Photos will be up soon :)

Off to Zion!!!

22 09 2008

Hey!! Here’s what you need to know:

  • We will be leaving this Friday, September 26th, 2008 around 6:00 or so in the evening (following the Field I class).
  • Jason will head up earlier to get some camp sites. Rhonda’s truck is just about full, but I will have room for another 1-2 people in my car, depending on gear. If you need a ride, let me know!!!
  • Camping may be tight (not a lot of room), so sharing tents is ideal.
  • If you’ve told Erin you might go, she needs to know now whether that’s a yes or no.
  • Food will be purchased on Thursday, but don’t hesitate to bring snacks/food of your own :)
  • If you’ve got any questions, you can always ask me, an officer, or comment here. I’ll get back to you ASAP.

New Officer Photos

17 09 2008

Hey everyone! New Officer photos are up! I tried to look for candid, in-the-field shots of our officers to use. Go check them out!! Will update soon with info on our first trip!!

Navajo Lake? Nope. Zion Instead!

15 09 2008

Hey everyone :) There has been a slight change of plansĀ for our first trip. Due to, um, possible difficulties with finding campsites at Navajo Lake, the trip will instead be to Zion National Park in Utah. Erin (Club President) needs to know immediately whether or not you are serious about going so she can reserve the right amount of sites. If you are serious about going, contact her immediately!! You can comment here as well, and I’ll pass on the word. She’ll need to know by Tuesday night.

As soon as more details are known about this trip, I’ll make another post here. We will be leaving Friday evening (after field class).

Welcome Back!

9 09 2008

Hey everyone. I hope you’ve all had a great summer. We’ve had our first meeting of the semester and it was very productive. We took the time to plan out events for the next four months. You can see a list of these events (they include meetings and hikes) on the right hand side.

I am looking forward to seeing all of you on these trips. Here’s to another semester of great hikes/trips and new memories!
